Barbara Torango – Licensed Professional Counselor
I have the utmost respect for the clients I see as active members of the therapeutic team. I believe that clients deserve trust, comfort, and support to fulfill their needs and personal goals. Clients should be able to bring up pressing issues and events and have their sessions prioritized accordingly. Because I am both an Art Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor, I offer options as to how clients can express themselves based on their comfort level, through talk therapy or through the art process.

I am also a psychiatric assistant at Western Psychiatric Hospital on the General Adult unit. My experience consists of working with clients that have struggled with mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and psychosis. I have a strong interest in mental health and I believe it is essential to educate people with information and techniques on how to cope when they feel symptoms of anxiety and depression. Every individual is unique and it is important for us to understand that people can have different coping mechanisms for treating emotional stressors.
Isabella Demo – Research Psychology Intern
I am a junior double majoring in psychology and sociology. My future goals include attending a graduate school for psychology with a research focus. I am interested in how people learn and negotiate their environments and the degree to which these experiences impact their mental health.
